Missions Trip to Albania - March 11-15, 2009
On March 11-15, Dr. Al Weir, Hematologist and VP of Campus & Community Ministries for CMDA, with Dr. Mark Johnston, Gastroenterologist, and President of Albania Health Fund, will be traveling to Albania to lead a weekend clinical and spiritual conference for Albanian medical students. About 75 students, of whom 2/3 are not Christian, will be gathered at a seaside “resort” for a time of learning, small groups and fun. Our goal will be to bring many students toward a relationship with Christ and to strengthen the Albanian Christian student leaders. We believe that 2-3 Christian medical students from America would greatly enhance our mission by developing Christian relationships and taking part in the small groups. This is a unique type of international missions.
If you are interested in coming with us as a student member of our team, please let me know soon at al.weir@cmda.org. Feel free to forward this to any other Christian medical students you think might be interested.

One last note!
This year we are trying to arrange a chartered bus to and from the retreat. This bus will make it easier to travel for everyone and it’s also a great opportunity for fellowship! Please sign up here! Once we have an estimate of how many people are interested, we will send more information about cost, time, and location. We will then send another form to sign up, so be on the lookout for that. Please respond by December 15th so we can do all of this in a timely fashion.
Hope everyone is enjoying their break.

Hi Everyone,
I hope that all is well with you! For our last meeting of the year, let’s meet for a family style dinner in Times Square at Tony’s Di Napoli, 147 W 43rd St. between 6th and 7th Aves. Is Friday December 5th at 7:30pm good for everyone? If most people have a conflict and an alternate day suggestion, I’ll change it.
Best,
Brandi

This gathering was held at Brad & Laura Cruse’s’s home on the Upper West Side. We were treated with Southern hospitality to an assortment of soups including: taco soup topped with Fritos, garlic baked potato soup, and cream of carrot. Other items on the menu of significance were: Mexican cornbread and dump cake! There was significant representation from both New York and New Jersey! A decision was made at this meeting to pursue more purposeful and more regular meetings. If you would like to be invited this or future Dental Fellowship gatherings, please contact the NYC Area Director.
